Research

We are using mathematical models and statistical methods to analyze patterns of genetic variability in natural populations. In particular, we are interested in discerning neutral from non-neutral forces of molecular evolution.

Furthermore, we are using methods of comparative and evolutionary genomics to study the emergence of lineage specific genes. In particular, we are interested in the evolution of chromatin insulator proteins in animal species.
